The Northern California Institute for Research and Education (NCIRE)
The research and projects of the Police Stress and Health Program are primarily funded through grants awarded by the National Institute of Mental Health. These funds are managed through the Northern California Institute of Research and Education (NCIRE), a free-standing, non-profit organization established in 1988 to manage funding and provide research support to recipients of awards from federal sponsors as well as private industry and foundations. One of the fastest growing medical research groups in the nation, NCIRE currently manages over $25 million in funding.
